Spartans lose to Ironbound 3-2

Two weeks in a row, the Spartans started the game off strong and couldn't maintain a lead. After outplaying Ironbound the entire 1st half and creating numerous chances, the Spartans couldn't score. Going into halftime tied 0-0, J.U. had the better of the play but not finishing chances in the 1st half cost them the game.

In the first half, Adam Charles & Aaron Acloque dominated the game and Jason Quiceno had 2 excellent scoring chances. Charlie Gardner played his best half of the season dominating the midfield and the back 4 didn't have much to do defensively.

In the 2nd half, Ironbound would take the lead off a poorly defended set piece. Minutes later, Quiceno would take matters into his own hands by scoring 2 goals and putting the Spartans up 2-1 halfway through the 2nd half.

Ironbound would score 2 more goals off a mistake & and horrendous penalty kick decision by the referee. The boys hopefully learned that when things are going your way early in the game, to finish your chances.
